I give them the same thing that they give me. My eight year old 07/23 gets a macaroni sculpture of me and her holding hands (noodles).

Generally I buy one big gift (50$ or so) and several smaller gifts. I try to never spend more than 100$ on birthdays, but my son is only 4. I think as he gets older, the spending limit will go up! But, I suppose that when he gets older I won't be buying all the cartoon character themed party supplies that cost 30-50 bucks either- so that will make up for some of it!

$25 is usually what I spend on my daughters birthday gifts, maybe a little more if it is a milestone birthday like 16 or 18.

Well I don't have children myself, but my dad used to give my brother and I $100 bucks each birthday when we were younger. Now he gives us $200 or $300.

The kids are 22 and 20 so I just give them cash ($500 each). I think when they were younger we sould spend $150 or so.
