It's the weight on your body that is solely attributed to the amount of water in it. People who eat a lot of salt retain water and have more water weight. It's why when you work out you weigh less than when you started.

this is the extra weight held mostly temporarly in your body due to it holding extra water. This can be caused from too much salt or during the menstrual cycle
