How old are you?

Take the stuffed dog. You can leave it packed away, but it'll be close by if you feel that you need it. Perhaps just knowing that it's near will be enough to help you sleep even if you aren't actually cuddling with it at night.

Take it with a knife through it's heart and announce to the other kids that you don't take crap from anyone. It will make your camping experience easier. Those other kids can be mean and evil but if they see your stuffed animal with a knife in it they are more likely to leave you alone.

My friend takes her little bear everywhere she travels. She takes a picture of him at one historical spot or something on every trip. He has his own little photo album.
