How many calories needed every day and what foods can you choose?

The amount of calories you need to receive the proper nutrition depends on your body weight, body fat, and other nutritional needs. The answer is different for everyone. As a ballet dancer myself with a very high metabolism I was able to eat 3000(5'3" 110 lbs) calories, while my younger sister was only able to eat about 1500(5'8" 140lbs?). I always ate pretty healthy and never snacked much between meals. I didn't necessarily diet and restrict myself though, and I was never told I needed to as long as I ate pretty healthy and worked out.
