being picked up by a van on first date?
like a nice family van owned by my parents
not an old vehicle for sure, but a bit huge
cause i go to school and can't afford a car myself
if you don't mind, then how should i tell my date that i'll pick her up in a van on the first date? (will it sound ridiculous?)

The vehicle doesn't matter, I wouldn't even mention it. It's you she likes, not your wheels.

If you were like an unemployed burned out 40 year old guy picking her up on your parents shag wagon van, then that's definitley a turn off! But it sounds like you are in school and are using your parents van for the time being while you get though school. You could just let her know that you are working on your education so you can graduate and get a hot ride, but for now you have to settle for the van. Dude, if she likes you, the vehicle won't matter anyway. Good luck.

Is she dating you or what you drive? Would she rather a van or a bicycle or roller skates?

Just say, "You know, school has been pretty rough financially and I don't own a car at the moment. But, I really wanted to take you out so I got my parents van. Pick you up at 8:00!"

To me, as long as you have a great personality, than I don't care where we go or what car you have or anything like that. Some girls would hate a van. But others would prolly think your a family guy so it might be a plus for you.

haha, this is an awesome question!

alright, i say always pick a girl up in the junkiest piece of crap ever. keep it clean, and make sure it's safe to drive, but the dorkiest, least popular vehicle you can possibly lay your hands on.

why? because any girl who ditches you for driving a van wasn't worth your time anyway. this way, you save your energy and don't get caught up with some hateful harpy.

A girl who is going to get all stressed out about the vehicle you're picking her up in is probably a snob and is not worth dating.

LOOK, IT DOES NOT MATTER IN WHAT CAR YOU ARE PICKING HER UP, IT IS YOU WHO MATTERS, IF SHE IS A NICE GIRL FOR YOU SHE WONT CARE, AND IF SHE CARES WELL SHE IS PROBABLY A B****, THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO THINK ABOUT ON A DATE, I KNOW THAT GIRLS ARE PICKY, BUT IT IS NOT LIKE YOU ARE USING A REALLY UGLY CAR, SO DONT EVEN TELL HER JUST PICK HER UP, OR IF YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE ASKING HER, JUST TELL HER THAT YOU ARE GOING TO PICK HER UP IN VAN, AND IF SHE SOUNDS LIKE SHE DOESNT LIKE WELL, JUST LET HER GO THAT IS NOT THE GIRL FOR YOU! GOOD LUCK.

If you're embarrassed, just tell her you're working on getting a car but since you really want to save up for something cool, for right now you've got to pick her up in you're family's car...She really shouldn't mind, if you laugh about it so will she.

i dont think it would matter
just show her a great time and she wont even think about the van
someone who would get mad of the kind of vehicle you drive isnt worth dating anyway
