There is a certain amount you can make in a year that enables you to file exempt for the entire year. But you can only file exempt 1 year. Out of $108, they wouldn't take much, and if you didn't get a W-2, ask your employer. If he's paying you under the table, he's not claiming it, so you shouldn't have to. Is that amount for the year? Or just a week?

Go to this link:

On the right, go to "Tax Rates"

Look for your income (yearly) and your state and at federal.

It will tell you a percentage that will be taken out, and you can have a better estimate.

For state, if you don't make the minimum, you'll get most, if not all, of your taxes back in April after filing for taxes.

And yes, ANYONE who works, gets taxed. You can start working at 14, and you are taxed from there til your retired.

If you have an income that the government knows about (i.e. a legal job) the government takes income tax from it. How much depends on where you live - there are federal, state, and local taxes.

There is no need to report $108 in income, unless you have received a W2 for it. Even then, filing a return for $108 is silly.

$108.00 per year will not be taxed. Nor will $1,296.00.

If that is a weekly amt. $5,616.00 per yr.

Maybe so.

It would help if you added into your question which country you are in. Even so, given you are so young and making so little, most countries would not tax you.
