No unfortunately they want Face cream, hair gel, Sensitive, Caring, Supportive. These girls want to live a simple life not the hard life like it used to be in early days.

I think the term "new man" seems to have moved away from its original meaning - which was a "man" in the normal sense of the world - strong, masculine etc but also able to show a sensitive side. Now it just seems to popularly mean a "weak" or "effeminate" chap.
I am a very modern woman who has had some "new man" boyfriends in the past, and hope I finally settle down with one. Both my father and grandfather were "new men" in the proper sense of the world and great role models.
My grandad was senior in the parachute regiment, yet at home he believed a man should help around the house and treated my granny like a princess. My own father despite his high powered job, motorbike racing etc, has always helped around the house and with both me and my sister he was/is incredibly gentle and supportive.
I hope other women have been so lucky as me with role models - but it just means I have high expectations!!

A real man, does not bother too much with his looks (especially hair gel--I hate it), but he's always clean, so not a caveman. He's also sensitive and caring, supportive, but masculine at the same time. So let's not exaggerate things!

I rather go for a cave man!! Hair gel freaks me out. It's better for a man to wear lipstick than hair gel...LOL

I like caring and supportive men, but I hate all that primping that pretty boys do. A man should not spend more time on his hair than I do.

That depends on the individual, not on whether they are modern or old fashioned.

No metrosexuals. "Modern" women like men who take care of themselves, but once they start heading over to "feminine", forget it.
