I have a problem with my stomach and I can't take medications. As a result, I have been forced to find natural cures.

The fastest way that I have found to open the sinuses is to boil about an inch of water in a pot. Add about a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the water. Put a towel over your head(don't catch it on fire if the stove is still hot)and breath in the steam from the water and pepper. In less than a minute, you will start to drain. It will stop a headache in it's tracks. My 16 year old asked me just the other day, "Why does this work so well?". He uses it all the time, too.

Chronic sinusitis can result from too much yeast in your body. Do a search on a condition called Candida. You can change your diet and do cleansing fasts to rid your body of excess mucus and yeast. I have attatched a link where you can find more information.

Here is a link that claims humming will cure sinusitis in just four days. Don't know if it works, but I found it interesting.

I have suffered from chronic sinusitis for a while. I went to a new doctor about 3 months ago because my sinuses were so bad, even with medication, I was sleeping in a chair because I could not lie flat.

He suggested I try an "Allergy Elimination Diet" ... google this term and you will find it.

Basicly for 3 weeks you do not eat: Processed Foods, Wheat, Sugar, Dairy, Citrus, Coffee, Artificial Sweeteners, Eggs.

I subsisted mostly on brown rice, vegetables and chicken for 3 weeks. However, after about 3 days, my sinuses cleared and they've been good ever since.

After 3 weeks on the diet, I started adding back food one at a time and found that the killer for me was Dairy. Even though I had been tested for food allergies, when I added the dairy back I became stuffed up. The doctor said the dairy might not show up as a true allergy.

So, for the past 2 months no dairy and no sinusitis no meds. (I stopped taking the flonase, the claritin and the zyrtech and the sudafed.)

It may not work for you but its worth a try.

Good luck

If it is full blown and stuffy right now then get it cured at least temporarily with some antibiotics but a permanent cure lies in a Yogic cleaning therapy called Neti. Where warm saline water (or at times several other fluids) is passed through the nostrils and the entire sinus cavity is cleaned. It might seem very tough but is very easy and a sure way of getting rid of this problem.

Warning : learn it from a very experienced yoga teacher.

I have chronic sinustis and my specialists put me on flownase twice a day and from the drugstore he told me to get a sinus rinse and use it once a day. It is a special salene solution prepackaged for each treatment. That was over a month ago and boy it sure helps..
the problem with chronic sinustis is the mucous . mucous is a terrible bacteria grower and that is why we keep getting infections etc.

you have to rinse daily your nostrils with saline solution ( O.9% Sodium Chloride Solution) at room temperature from the pharmacy. A large syringe ( without needle) would help you by rinsing your nostrils through your nose holes. After this procedure, apply a thin layer of nose ointment containing adeps lanae with dexpanthenol into your nose holes protecting the mucous membrane to dry up.

Try rubbing some honey on your neck. Clean off after an hour or two. Wait three hours, then reapply. No more than 6 times a day. It should be gone within a week.
