The only other option (apart from LASIK/LASEK/Epi-LASIK) is Orthokeratology and Intacs (Intracorneal rings). I think you are more interested in knowing if there is a non-surgical procedure. For -6.0 D myopia, intraocular implant (phakic IOL) will be risky, therefore Orthokeratology is the only consideration.
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is a nonsurgical procedure that uses RGP contact lenses to change the curvature of the cornea to improve its ability to refract light and successfully focus on objects.
The Ortho-K system was initially approved for daily wear. But in 2002, the FDA approved the lenses for overnight use. A person takes them out in the morning to enjoy the day free of contacts. This method, however, does not produce a permanent result, and a doctor must be certified to fit Ortho-K lenses.

I wore glasses from the age of 12.
One of the best things was getting contacts when I was 32.
I still used to wear glasses in the evening.
I have just had Lasik surgery................ITS GREAT !!!
Go to the surgery, get the check up done, they'll tell you (and you should tell them ) how much you want done.
If your eyes are physically strong, you may still be able to get them 'tweaked' in a year or so after the first time.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to help correct nearsightedness (myopia) besides surgery. If there was anything else you could do, trust me, my classmates and me would be doing it!
She should discuss surgery options with her optometrist and see if her eyes meet the qualifications. Also, she wants to make sure her vision is pretty stable (still isn't increasing in minus much from year to year).
Good luck!

If she's near sighted, there are implants, but they're not very affordable. . I'd have them implanted in my eyes, if they were. I'd love to have better eye sight. Something else she could do, is wear contacts all day at home or out, and only wear glasses when cleanining the contacts. That's what my brother does. Or just wear glasses all day until bed time, taking them off, to shower. That's what I do.
