did you ever notice someone doing something and someone else asks them why they done it and they reply "to be different" but if they are trying to be different aren't they still the same because a lot of people try to be different

If anyone can look the same as you, you're neither unique nor original. So piercings, baggy clothes, tattoos and all these things people do trying to be an "individual" is easily copied by the next person who wants to plop down a few bucks.

What unique is what inside. All these people focusing on external images to be special in some way are all the same not-so-special people. Might as well be clones.

not necessarily, they definately have the same objective (being different) but how they end up is not necessarily the same. say you have to identical twins, and they want to be different from each other do you think you could call the two of them the same after a few years of trying to be different from each other? this is an extreme example but illustrates the fact that the same objective is a very small proportion of who a person is

Yes, I had an answer before that said I try to look like everybody else, because everybody I see is trying to be different, so they are all the same. I am trying to be like everybody else, which actually makes me different, because I am not trying to be different.
