Go to a reputable jeweler and let them show you rings of different clarities, cuts, carats and colors. You will start to see that a flawless ring will cost alot more, but some that are not exactly flawless can come pretty close and are less expensive. Decide on the setting you want (gold, white gold, silver, platinum) and consider a CZ! I think that nowadays its not as big a deal, all she wants is a nice rock on her finger that the man she loves got just for her. In terms of how much to spend, thats a tough one! Once you know what youre looking for, go to different stores and price them. You might even want to buy a loose diamond and then have it placed in the setting, which is sometimes less expensive. Good luck, and definitely return it if she says no!

You will be married to this lady and hopefully it will be for the rest of your life. Don't go in debt just to impress her because this is only a temporary thing. Go with what your budget allows and talk to her about it if need be. In time if you are still married and your budget allows you can always upgrade the ring if she so desires. A ring is only a symbol. It should not be a money status symbol but of a union symbol. Don't let the size of the ring get in the way because size doesn't always matter.
If she says no, you won't be giving it to her so you won't need to take it back.

I once spent $300 to $500 on a wedding band- that's all three rings. If she says no, she'll give it back, and you can put it away ntil you find another potential fiance. BUt hope that the next girl has the same ring size. Other wise you'll have to pay, to either have the ring resized up of resized down.

As much as you feel she is worth, and as much as you love her, its not about money, its about her happiness, a happy wife is a happy life, don't worry about how much you spend, after a while she stops thinking about the ring on her hand, because she has something worth more at home, you men have to get more creative, its just a ring, not more than what the two of you share

It doesn't matter what price the ring is...It shouldn't matter. All that matters is the love behind giving it to the person. I know cause I know someone who was stupid enough to give 3 months salary for a ring. And yes you can take it back if she says no....
My fiance got me a unqie ring. I love pink sapphires. So I got a ring with pink sapphires and 1 diamond in it. Set in 14k white gold. Some websites you could try out....

And if you go into the store...don't let the dealers sucker you

Don't see why you can't take it back if she says no. Just check with the jeweler.
Traditionally you're supposed to spend about 1 months salary, but that's ridiculous. And I've never known anyone that did that.
Browse a bit, and find something you think she'll like, then check the price tag.
good luck!

2 months salary is a good standard for a lifetime investment. If you aren't ready to put 2 months in it, you probably aren't ready for 85 years of very hard work. For the 2nd question, open the box with the ring in it and ask your question, then put it on her hand when she says yes.

i believe if the gals really loved the dude, any ring that fits her personality would do, as long as it doesn't turn her finger green, and yes, pay more then 50 cents, yo...but i heard the typical ring would be three months salary, not two...before taxes..lol
