Will God punish me for stealing or reward me for stopping them being able to worship their God.

Stealing is wrong I'm afraid. We are not zealots. Barabbas was standing next to Jesus and the crowd said let Barabbas go. He was a zealot guilty of attacking Romans who have invaded his Holy land. He did not wait for God but took matters into his own hands. Then there was Jesus, guilty of nothing. Totally obedient to God, found guilty, by Jews then died for our sins, he died for Barabbas. You have to give back what is taken with an apology and trust God in this. Anyone who rejects God will burn in a lake of fire forever with no chance to get out. Wheather they do it from their hearts or with what you stole they will do it. You must not steal. That's it.
