The minutemen are a kind of reactionairy group that feels the need to do something, after all the Bush administration has allowed 10% of Mexico and it seems every other country in the world to flood into the country with no effort to even slow them down. Just look at the DEA and other agencies, he has gutted their budgets so they can't do their job. Yes its true we are a nation of immigrants, but we can't take in the whole world, we simply can't afford it, our school system won't handle it, our medical system can't handle it, so the minutemen wan't to do something about it, from what ive heard they haven't hurt anyone they just wan't to try and fix Bushes failures.

Having the private citizens enforce a federal law is just as good as having every person who drives like a maniac being pulled over by anyone that wants to hold them accountable.

I support border protection and I support the efforts to empower people to be more vigilant and their right to protect their homes and land.

I think the Minutemen are left with no oversight as to what they can do, there is an absence of a check and balance for accountability.

If you live in a border town of Mexico. Such as El Paso TX. You would love the Minutemen AND the National Guardsmen too.

THEY ARE GREAT!!!Replies2news has a good answer. It's just to bad our own govt. was warning Vincente Fox and the mexican military as to the whereabouts of minutemen locations (as seen on msnbc) and yahoo news,so they could cross elsewhere. Then after we have 12,000,000,000 illegal mexicans bush makes the token gesture, (more like jester) of putting some of the guard on the border, after he warned the mexicans.Big business rules in this country and it's nice to see some real Americans doing the job our own Govt. wont do.

I think they are a great civic group that is doing what our government isn't willing to do. Watch our borders! If they were vigalantes as others claim, then there would have been 'news reports all over' about how people were being treated inhumanely, and it's not. They HAVE done the job, AND been above reproach in my opinion on their actions. What has anyone else done for our country (Going to War counts, but I meant unstructured, CIVIC participation)??

My ex-wife used to call me a Minuteman. It took me years to realize she wasn't calling me a patriot.

Seriously, the Minutemen are performing the service our military should be doing. They are enforcing the law. This is NOT vigilanteism.

If the Government doesn't do its job, then we the people have the right and obligation to do it for them. After all, our Constitution starts with “We the people”.

Our do nothing congress and senate is shuffling its collective feet, worrying they are going to loose their jobs in November, so WE The People have to take over!
