Do you mean peritoneal dialysis vs hemodialysis? The each have their pros and cons. I think peritoneal dialysis offers you more freedom away from machines while hemodialysis may be more effective method of clearing the blood.

Dialysis- The diffusion of solute molecules through a semipermeable membrane, passing from the side of higher concentration to that of the lower; a method sometimes used in patients with defective renal function, to remove from the blood elements that are normally excreted in the urine.
Lymph dialysis- removal of urea and other elements from lymph collected from the thorasic duct, treated outside the body, and later reinfused.
Peritonial dialysis- dialysis through the peritoneum, the dialysing solution being introduced into and removed from the peritoneal cavity, as either a continuous or intermittant procedure.
Consult a Nephrologist for expert opinion.
Pease see the webpages for more details on Dialysis, Hemodialysis, Peritoneal dialysis, Hemofiltration and Peritonitis-dialysis associated.

are you referring to peritoneal dialysis vs hemodialysis???

both have its pros and cons. generally, i feel that peritoneal is better than hemodialysis because it gives patients more freedom.

my advice to you is to discuss this problem with your doctor in charge. he knows your condition compared to people here.
