sounds silly but unplug shot down and plug back in and start, mine did the same the cables had a short or something but it worked!.

First find which sound card u r using and then find the compatible drivers with ur windows (which ever it may be) then install it should work try it ........

it probably not inserted on the right socket for speakers.. or there is a problem on your soundblaster/hardware..
try to re install the hardware's software...
