No, it's not. In fact, it should be optional -- no one should feel forced to have pre-marital sex, by their partner or by societal pressure. It will not do you any harm to go without it. Abstaining will not harm your sexual adjustment within marriage. Some belief systems recommend abstaining from sex outside of marriage. If you don't have genital contact, it also reduces your chances of pregnancy and disease.
