Maybe she has a bladder infection? Maybe she has extra stress of some sort as of late? I second the "take her to a doctor" comment. My son trained at about the same age as your daughter. (He still wets at night.) Whatever you do don't spank your child for potty accidents. That's not recommended AT ALL and sounds abusive to me. Don't even show disappointment if she makes an accident. (She can actually use this against you. If she knows peeing on the floor upsets you, she may do it to assert her independence or show her anger.)

Maybe she needs a few days break from training? I'd try her back in diapers for a few days. I did this with my son when he was having lots of accidents. It seemed to help his confidence some. Then, when he was ready we started with the training again. For the smell, I'd call in a carpet cleaner. I don't know about that. Sorry. I've got wood and tile floors. Good luck! I'm sure you're almost finished with the training. She's just had a little setback.

Try a rewards system, it is not bribery, frequent trips to potty, after x number of hours of no wetting on the floor she can have special treat such as sit with her and read a favorite story, tell her how happy you are that she is being a big girl etc. Book "potty training in less than a day often works for kids this age. She may be trying for attention so give her attention for success and less for failure. There are good products at pet stores for the urine smells and daughter can help. Good luck.

Sorry, I know it's frustrating. Has she had a bad experience with the potty? Sometimes if your child is constipated, it's painful to go. She may have associated the pain with sitting on the potty. Also, she may be scared of going to nursery school, knows she can't go if she stays wet. Be patient, go slowly & start training again. Reward her with pretty stickers on a chart , one for every time she makes it to the potty. When she has "X" amount of stickers, take her to the store & let her pick out cute trainer pants or panties. Make her help clean up the "accident". As far as the smell of carpet, there are foam carpet cleaners to spot clean. Spray on areas, wait then vacuum. Check the labels. Good luck--she'll get the hang of it again.

Patience and persistence! You have to ask her several times if she needs to go. When you give her a drink, take her to the toilet right after, so she knows to do that as soon as she's had a drink. My bf does that with his son and it works. She'll get it right eventually. If you still have that problem then I'd suggest taking her to the doctor. As for the smell, the best thing you can use is Febreeze. It works really well. Good luck!

At the very least, I'd start back with training pants or diapers. Why let her destroy your house? That's disgusting!

Second--call professional carpet cleaners. Let them know there is a urine problem in the carpet when you talk to them so they can be prepared for what they are cleaning up.

Were you using a little potty for her? Try and make it something "fun" and special.

Here's a good article that may help--

Yes, spank her little BEHIND, until she understands that you mean business when you tell her the "toilet" is for wee'ing. Don't let your 3 1/2 year old control you.

Best Wishes!

Maybe you should stop referring to it as "weeing". Perhaps when her mother grows up and talks like an adult, the child will follow suit.

You're British, right? Take her to a doctor. Won't cost you a dime.
