I don't know why and I was pondering on this question the other day.

And that's when it hit me like a brick in the face! Here lies the essence of religion. If we were to look at history, a society would be crumbling or approaching utter decay, everyone was into debauchery and horrendous activities.

Then came a prophet which brought religion - which is just a set of rules to lead your life. And people who followed would go from animal to man.

So the moral is that religion is nothing but from a divine source because the mind of man can't just cook up a waterproof set of rules amidst all the chaos around him.

People in the world are so nasty to each other b/c everyone believes differently. And most of the time other people don't understand someone else's beliefs. So, it causes a chain reaction. People fear what they don't understand and they hate what they fear. That and they get pissed off b/c most everyone has the " what i believe is right and what you believe is wrong, so believe me or f*ck you" menatlitly.
it's messed up. hope this helps answer your question.

The main reason this happens is because we have been brought up to believe in a judgmental punishing God.

Most of us are silly enough to think that this god we invented judges the same silly way that we do. So we imagine that this god hates the people who do the things that we don't like just like we do.

We then call these people the bad people so we can have someone to feel better than.

We make up fantasies of justice that sees this silly god we have created punishing the bad people we also created so we can see ourselves as superior to these so-called bad people.

All of this takes place within the context of our thoughts. None of it has any real bearing on the real unconditionally loving God that sees all of as being his/her precious children.

Love and blessings.

You know, I think I am asking the same question in a different way. It is because we are selfish. Ultimately people tend to think of themselves and their own feelings and that creates a bunch of people saying and doing whatever thay want whether it hurts others or not.

Because we all reach different levels of maturity at different times. And unfortunately sometimes the bullies of the school yard grow up to be the bullies in government. Little kids in adults bodies with chips on their shoulders and the power to back it up. Sad, huh?

There are so many different variables that go into every single conflict on the planet that there's no way to realistically sum them up in one sentence.

Simple, no one has the courage to turn the other cheek anymore- it's all an eye for and eye and tooth for a tooth. If only someone would stand up and start it up again....

Because we are all greedy. We are always looking for a con that will increase our own selfish needs besides the needs of all mankind.
