Too many fairy tale belevers get away with telling lies or exagerating the truths. These testimonies or so called miracles are never investigated. So, that leaves a wide open space for lies and exaggerated truths. Nobody's there to pin point the flaws and bullshit because the listener want to believe it's true when it's really not

Someone else mentioned the Catholic Church investigating miracles. They're pretty picky about what they call miraculous. As for the small miracles that everyday people experience, it is close to impossible to prove that they actually are miracles. I will use my own personal miracle as an example. I prayed for many years about finding a mate. I prayed for some specific things that I wanted. Four years ago my now husband came into my life and our lives have been really wonderful together. He is literally, the answer to my prayers. I still have a list that I wrote out over 7 years ago with the qualities that I was seeking. Now, I believe that God answered my prayers. I, as a somewhat logical person, also have to admit that it could all be coincidence and that there was no divine intervention at all.

There are many quieter miracles than seeing the Virgin Mary's image on the concrete overpass. I know of several people who have had horrible cancer and suffered terribly who are now cancer free. These cures are miracles whether they're attributed to God, medicine, alternative medicine or the moon. It's nicer and happier to believe that the cures came from God and even if, when I die, I find it all to be fairy tales I will have lived a happy life in my beliefs.

If you had ever experienced a miracle, you would know that they exist. I've experienced a few. Modern science cannot explain them because it's still in it's infancy. Medical doctors and scientists cannot explain the most recent miracle I've experienced, simply because they don't have the tools to do so. There is so much going on in dimensions that we just don't have the ability to see, understand, or measure. So investigation is not possible. Why bother? Just enjoy them along with all of life's mysteries. To have a closed mind about this, is to live a cold, dark life.

The Catholic Church does a lot of investigation into claims of miracles. A lot of times, the investigation can last for many years. Sometimes it can be determined by the Church to be valid, but many are determined by the Church to be either false or possibly coming from an evil spirit. And many are not given official recognition by the Church.

But that intense scrutiny and prudence used by the Church gives more credibility to what the Church determines is an actual God made miracle.

I can only speak for the miracles I have experienced personally. I have been healed from tumors....medical records can support that. I have seen other people healed from various diseases. Unfortunately there are fakes out there that make it difficult for people to believe when something real happens. But that is when the spirit of discernment should kick in (if you are a Christian), mostly it comes down to belief and common sense and everyone has a view that differs from others. But I have testimony and mine would be supported by the life I live and medical records.......

They are not at all fairy tales....Miracles happen every day. Just open your eyes and see the world around you....feel the wind in your face. Listen to the birds singing.....and stop along the way to smell the flowers. Even your breathing and heartbeat is a miracle.
Example: The drs told me I needed heart surgery but only had a small chance of survival rate. I asked the Lord to help me and I made it......this was 4 yrs ago.
Example: My husband is a 3 yr cancer survivor. His was not even supposed to curable. We both prayed and asked God to let His will be done and it happened. I thank God everyday for giving my husband and myself a second chance at life.

I can't tell you about 'miracles' in revival tents, but the Catholic Church thoroughly and scientifically investigates an event before declaring it to be miraculous. They even appoint a 'devil's advocate' to 'disprove' the miracle.

There is nothing wrong with believing in miracles, or praying for them.

There is nothing wrong with your question.

It is the 'details of your question' that speak volumes. You are obviously asking your question from the depth of ignorance. Since you 'already know your answer,' you should stop wasting our time.

You've made it quite clear that you don't believe in God, and that you enjoy bashing other people's beliefs.

You are not asking religious questions to QUESTION, you are asking them to FLAME Christians.

Your questions are too biased to be logical or curious questions. Throwing key words in them such as "fairy tales", "exaggerating", "lies", and "bullshit" show that you are not asking a question for the value of what the users' answers may show. You're venting your own frustration because you're too narrow minded to understand how someone can believe in something that they can't see.

You don't need to be asking such inflammatory questions on here. Sounds to me like you need a blog.

I agree with pepper. You're flaming, and for me to say that, that's pretty bad.

It's hard to insult YOUR beliefs, because really, you have none. It must suck to be you, because everyone needs SOMETHING to believe in.

I suggest that, if you're going to talk about investigating or intelligence on here, you learn how to spell properly and how to construct a sentence.

As far as you being an atheist, I would strongly suggest you trying to prove atheism RIGHT, instead of trying to prove Christianity wrong.

Did anyone ever teach this moron how to debate properly?

What most people seem to call a "miracle" cannot be investigated since it relies primarily on a person's own unverifiable claims.

Ex. "I prayed and I got what I wanted."

But, that claim ignores the tens of thousands of times people pray and nothing happens.

Figure this out! God does not and will not bow to you.You rage like a child who has found something old but thinks he is the first to ever behold it that it is new upon the face of the earth. There was before you and there will be after you and none will comprehend.
