On here there are a bunch of purposely mean and awful questions that mock Christians. But when we post responses like pray or scripture references non-believers get offended and angry at our answers but think it is ok to mock us and abuse our beliefs. So my question is if non-believers don't want our beliefs pushed on them, why do they try to push theirs on us?

so it is a "tit for tat" thing? Someone offends you or the actions of a particular group make you loathe an entire group. Isn't this like religious racism between us all? And yes, civility would be nice!

Because non-believers are either coming on here to get answers (wow an amazing concept!!) or to stir up the Believers and get them all riled up. Which is why the really dumb questions should not be answered at all, we should not be falling into their traps. If they mock us let them. It's ok, we don't need to defend ourselves and get angry by them. We don't need to let them push their beliefs on us, we should just simply ignore :)

I am a non believer and I dont get angry in fact I come here for the entertainment and amusement of reading how crazy those who do believe get. And about praying thats a real good one. All the praying in the world hasnt made anything better. Tell me of just one page in the bible that speaks only of wonderful things where not one word of killing and suffering appears just one page except for the very first page since there wasnt any people yet. If prayer really works go and play with a few rattle snakes and pray that they dont bite you.

I don't get offended nor do I push my beliefs on anyone. Each person has the right to believe as they see fit. I don't get bent out of shape when someone answers me with a passage from the bible or any other religious work. It is your choice to answer that way just as it is my choice not to believe it. I have never told anyone their system of belief is wrong nor will I ever. I however have been told I am wrong, I am sinful and I am going to hell. Even with that I do not get defensive. If it makes someone feel better about themselves to put me down that is their problem not mine.

Another example of generalizing. I am a "non-believer". The only time I get offended is when someone refuses to accept that fact. I get offended when someone tells me bad things will happen to me if I don't change my thinking. I get offended when people try to argue their point of view as the ONLY point of view.
I guess what I'm saying is real simple: If someone wants to put their faith and belief in a god, a tree, a snail, or in nothing at all, that is their right. If that person treats me with respect, I will respect that person right back.
Your last sentence asks, "...if non-believers don't want our beliefs pushed on them, why do they try to push theirs on us?" Please tell me when I tried to push my beliefs on you, other than my belief we should all follow the golden rule.

They come here on "Religion" & every Christian chat to mock Christians. And comically say "Why are you pushing your beliefs down our throats"..just like little kids who didn't get invited to a party. Their favorite is to claim "Victomhood"..but they have to run as fast as they can to find Christians to blow their little horns. They remind me of the guy who bashes his head against a brick was only because it feels so good when he quits

Ever hear the phrase, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it"? Christian fundamentalists have been on the attack for years now, trying to deny rights to homosexuals, trying to outlaw abortions, trying to keep women from obtaining equal rights, and trying to impose their own morals - many of them non-biblical - on the rest of society. Non-Fundamentalists are finally fighting back by speaking out against their campaigns, their media onslaughts, and their mistaken notions of truth, and the Fundamentalists don't like it very much. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. So when people of good conscience stand up for their rights, Fundamentalists cry foul - they claim they are being persecuted.

That is an excellent point. This culture forces its beliefs on us, in print , TV etc.
