Dogs can have skin irritations, just like people. It's miserable to be itchy, you should probably have your vet take a look at her to see if there's anything he can do to relieve it.

I would go to the vet for a skin scraping. Could be just dry skin, yeast infection, allergies, mange, etc etc. You can try changing her food or giving her benadryl and some fish oil capsules. Bathing her in an oatmeal shampoo may help too but I think a vet check is in order.

Where is she biting and scrating? What body part?
Dogs lick themselves when cleaning its fur and to ease an itching but some don't really know to stop. The will lick and bite themselves so much that they will finish injuring its skin, and even producing inflammations and infections. They also lick themselves when bored or stressed.

could be allergies. You can give your dog Benadryl at the rate of 1/2 mg. per/lb dogs body weight every 8 hours. Do not give the liquid type as it contains alchol

Your dog may have what is called a "hot spot" in which that is a place that they like to dig at. You can buy stuff at a store for hot spot, it is a liquid that you dab onto the spot(s) and it is a numbing and atiseptic agent. They will leave the spot(s) alone in time for it to heal.

She could have allergies, mites under her skin, or dry skin. If she starts losing her hair I would definitely take her to the vet

Is she forming a raw space? It could be a Hot spot or a list of other things that others have posted..I'd take her in to the vet and nip it in the bud!

could be allergies or dry skin. My dog used to have dry skin and we'd add a teaspoon of cod liver oil to her food to help with it. Best bet is to talk to vet.

Dogs can get allergies too! I had to take my dog to the vet to get medication before she bit herself raw!
