Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

i cannot say it is normal but most people at younger ages have it in some extent.
if you know why it happens you will understand why it does not go away by changing your diet, by the type of soap, shampoo, pattern of washing, and the way you keep your face clean.

acne is produced by a bacteria. the final result of the activity of this bacteria is the closure of the ducts coming to the surface of the skin and carrying fat.
the activity of this bacteria is determined by genetic factors.

all good text books just have recommendations for you that help some people a lot and some others not at all. i can summarize them for you:
for mild acne you should keep your skin as clean and dry as possible. this can potentially control the acne. never touch the boils. you can get the black materials out of the black heads gently but never touch inflammated or infectious boils.
shave your underpit to reduce the number of clonized bacteria over this area.
do not use heavy cosmetics. they are strong stimulants.

for moderate acne you can use some local compounds as your dermatologist recommends. most of them help peel your skin.

for moderate to severe cases you can add an antibiotics

and for severe cases acutane is a solution if you are not at pregnancy risk.

i hope this help
i am an MD

You may be washing your face, but if you're not using the correct type of soap, its only hurting you. Make sure to use body soap like dove unscented. Never used scented or colored soaps. Also, a good acne wash would probably be a good idea as well. Something with Benzoyl Peroxide, or Sacylic Acid. Also, when using these products, make sure to use a oil-free sunblock on your face to minimize redness when you're out exercising in the sun. Good luck

you could just be ultra sensitive to anything like some people. some people break out just after eating a greasy pizza.. so try not to eat to many greasy foods like pizza or burgers. try like arbys or somthing with as little grease as possible. also it could be an internal infection and not topical. that means no matter how many times you wash your face or what creams you put on it, it wont get better because its coming from the inside out, not from the outside going in. alot of doctors will proscribe anitbiotics for this like Bactrim (which works great!!) or simply birth controls will help. Alssooo you could be trying too hard to fix the problem by washing your face TOO much. If you use the same face wash everytime you wash your face you could be drying it out thus causing it to expose more acne as a defense system (kind of like when your body sweats to cool it self off, or when you get a fever because your bodys fighting the virus) Think of washing you face like washing your hair. Your hair needs shampoo(to clean) AND conditioner(to provent drying and soften)......there for your need to wash face with a daily scrub (shampoo) and then finish with a moisturizer wash (conditioner). You will see a better side of your face then just using one single face wash over and over. And you can always watch what kind of makeup your using especialy if your one of those sensitive people.

oh yea and after you excersize make sure you wash your face immediatly or your acne will only get worse. same goes for your back, the sweat is like candy for your acne.

It is very common for teenage and young folks to have an acne problem and there are things that you can do that can help alleviate the problem but maybe not get rid of it completely. As you grow older, you will see the problem disappear.
In the meantime, click on this link and in the Search box type "acne" and you can read recommended procedures that will help you:

The only way mine even remotely cleared up was when I started taking birth control pills.

I thought it was from eating sugar and bad stuff like that. But go to the doctor and ask him about Dalacin-T. Really, it should help.
