You will probably need to get a lawyer. Most ISP's have very strict privacy laws and they extend that to include post death.
I am sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for you and your family. Maybe you can contact Yahoo! help center for his password. Do you really want to go there? It might open a can of worms that you are better off not knowing. Unless it's a police matter, it may not even be possible for you to get his confidential information without a court order. Best of luck to you.

There was a big issue about this sometime back. A young man in the military died and the parents wanted access to his Yahoo account, but they told them no. Unfortunately, if you don't have his password, I don't think you'll be able to access his account.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I know how devastating it can be to lose a loved one by suicide.
The best thing you can do is either try and crack it (think of everything it may have been) or call the company the e-mail is held with and ask if there is any way they can give it to you.

I'am sorry about your son. Anyway, call up the company that hold your son's e-mail. Tell them about the story and they will most likely give you his password. Again, sorry about your son. I hope you find out why your son caused suicide.

You need to contact the email provider.. (aol, yahoo, msn, whatever) and tell them what happened... they will probably ask you to fax or mail them a copy of his death certificate before they will reset his password.
Good Luck

My condolences on your loss.
The ISP for any mail system has copies of those e-mails; You may need to get government assistance to get a subpeopna for them to retreive the e-mails, or they may just be sympathetic and help you if you provide documentation.
