If the dogs acts like that when you touch the hips , it means that he most likely has some arthritis and or hip dysplasia. My dog did this from a very young age ( 4 months) I thought she was a brat. Turns out she had severe dysplasia of both hips, and then developed severe arthritis. Because she was so sick and so young we tried surgery 2 times, and still had to put her down. Go to the vet and get pain meds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not an age thing! For one thing as the owner of a 15 and a 10 year old dog, I have a hard time viewing 6 as old. This sounds like a pain thing. your vet may be able to help.

Since it sounds like this just started I would be concerned about a health problem (such as the before mentioned CHD). Take him him to see the vet for a check up. As for a god home you can ask your vet if they know anyone who has a waiting list for this breed or look for a rescue. You should know that if you take him to a rescue or Humane Society they can euthanize him within three hours. That's not to say they will but it is an option for them if they are full. Putting an ad in the paper can also lead to a horrible fate if you don't screen the potential buyer to make sure they aren't involved with animal testing. Please be careful, for his sake.

He may be experiencing some pain. You probably should take him to the vet and get him checked out. Awwwwww, don't try to find a home for him. He's part of your family, and the stress could also add to health problems.

I think you should get him checked by a vet..he could be in pain.
It is not always noticeable in animals but you said he turned on you when you bumped his hips. Looks like he is sore.
