Just really seems so thoughtless...such a simple thing to help everyone understand what is going to happen on the road.

Just another breakdown in common civility? Common sense?

In Florida, I don't think they ever HAVE used them. Unless it's to turn on the left blinker, and then make a right across three lanes of traffic. Or to turn it on and drive down the road for 50 miles.

I think it's a combination of the two. Lack of common sense, or uncommon sense, as it seems more rare now than common. And lack of civility.

Although, my favorite is when someone is driving right beside me, and has their signal on and gets mad at me because I can't SEE the turn signal when they're beside me. Only from the front or the rear of the car...where the little flashy parts are.

1993, I think. It's been awhile.

Yes, another breakdown in both common sense and civility. And it's hard to hit that little lever when one is talking on a cellphone and cramming Big Mac down their throat at the same time.

I'm not sure when it happened, but it annoys the hell out of me! It's like...."Dude, it only takes a click of your lazy @$$ hand to let me know you are switching lanes on the highway! Do you think you can summons that tiny little bit of energy to do that for your fellow drivers!?" lol, yeah a little road rage. Anyway, I think people just are getting more and more lazy, or perhaps they were never even properly taught. Some seem to think that you only need to signal when you are making a turn.

maybe it's because they are distracted for some reason or another. it is rude, but it happens quite often, and there dosn't seem to be an age limit. since i think most people care about other people, i think it's because they have their mind on something else. i try to remind myself of that in all areas where road rage can occur, because i've committed a few indescretions myself, without meaning to.

The auto makers put them on cars originally as "courtesy lights"
The name turn signals came later.
So you can say it is a lack of courtesy.
Besides I see many who use the lights but do not look before they change lanes. Just as bad.

I wish we could get like a reward from peoples insurance company for turning them in.
You know take a photo or video and send it in to a net work that can deal with the insurance company. and pay us for turning in their bad drivers.
That would cut down on a lot of bad drivers.

Not sure which country you live in but here in the UK, people are expected to use their direction indicators to give other road users information about which direction they intend to travel in.

I always use mine and I would have to say that driving day to day, so does everyone else.

When cops stopped handing out 100 dollar tickets for an improper lane change...sheer volume of people doing it, too. People have gotten really crappy on the roads anymore...

LOL! I have personally observed what I call a "citizen imposed moratorium on turn signal use" all around the country (we're military). It's going strong!

Global warming. Car uses more energy and thus produces more CO2 when the signal lights are on. And lousy driving habits. They drive in their own world w/o regard to other people. They steer their cars, not drive them.
