Sorry, its the same question as yesterdays but the point is the police cud have done it in a politer way without wanting him to sit like that.
Why make him kneel like that with his hands up? Is'nt that embarassing? Is he running away somewhere? There were many of them to guard him.
And for others who asked me why they checked his cars, his car was checked for weapons they say. But this has become very common. How can they stop and interrogate every commoner and publicly humiliae them like this.
For people who havent seen the question. It read
"Is this right?
Yesterday my friend told me that he was asked to put his hands up , get out of his car and kneel down before the police on the ground. After searching the car and its documents, he was let free and was apologized to by the police.
But who will pay for his pain for he was like that for about 10 to 15 minutes and who will pay for the humiliation caused during that time as to many others saw him in that humiliating position."

This person was only embarrassed. No payment is due.
The police have to be able to check. They would have their hands tied if they couldn't check out people. "I think he did it, but I can't look...The person might sue the city for false arrest or false imprisonment for embarrassing that person"
That would not be very effective. It happens. I have been detained and I am innocent. It makes no sense to get mad. They have to check. If they don't the bad guys will get away. A few good people get caught in the crossfire.
If they destroyed something, then you should get payment for that, but payment for being embarrassed is just asinine.
That is why there is no money for the programs that we need for our cities. Because of embarrassed people. How about if we just insist on newspaper apologies? The person's picture with a "this person is innocent" headline.
That would change the opinion of anyone who saw.

Dont comprehend what you're saying right here. The tax penalty will be $ninety 5 or a million% of earnings see you later because the quantity does no longer exceed the fee of a effortless health plan, however it is going up each and every twelve months. yet by using 2016, the penalty will improve to $695 for an uninsured man or woman, and as a lot as $2,0.5 in line with spouse and toddlers, or 2.5 p.c. of earnings, whichever is larger. What do you recommend there is not any pre-present condition provision? it truly is quickly out of money yet those who utilized earlier February are coated and in January it truly is going to be in result lower back with the time-honored man or woman insurance provision. Obamacare calls for each person be insured and in case you purchase from the replace you get a tax credit. you may not opt for no longer to be insured. it truly is a federal regulation. you're incorrect about that. perchance you should study the Obamacare website and the provisions. insurance agencies CAN reject you for insurance until eventually January, 2014 even as the regulation is going into result. So, you've a condition, then you really purchase insurance, so what's your element ?

No, of course it's not right, but people who have never had to experience it won't understand what you are saying. I experienced something very similar by an airport security guard who also dumped my belongings on the floor. It's not right and it is embarrassing and it does hurt.

As the daughter of a police officer and an ex-offender advocate, I can appreciate that they have a split second to secure a scene as their lives depend on it. That doesn't make it "right" or "justifiable" but that is the world they have to live in. I've lost count at the number of my dad's friends who've died in the line of duty for pausing that one split second. They have absolutely no way of knowing who is a good guy/girl and who is looking to take down a cop "just because." The world we live in gives police officers (and some security people) carte blanche to assume guilt first and apologize later.

If your friend feels he was treated more harshly than was required, he can file a complaint with Internal Affairs. He can also call his local representative to ask for assistance in resolving the matter. Above all, I hope he comes to understand that there is a very fine line between life and death for police officers. Most (not all) are doing the best they can in a world gone mad with crime and violence. Most are there to protect and serve.

Above all, I wish you and your friend peace.

Sometimes one is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. As unfortunate as it is, it's just police trying to do their job and protect everyone.

As to the methods you describe.
When an officer requires one to kneel, with hands up, or lie face down on the ground, bear in mind:
This is not only to protect the officer from being attacked, but
If attacked, the victim subjects oneself to being shot and/or killed.

If an officer should kill under those circumstances, and had not followed those procedures, the SH** hits the fan , big time.

A tip. If you are stopped at night for any reason, TURN ON YOUR INTERIOR LIGHTS BEFORE THE OFFICER APPROACHES YOUR CAR. PLACE BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL.

He will appreciate it and you will be treated more politely.

Do you realize how many police officers are injured during routine police stops. What if anything did he do to instigate this, talk back, give the one fingered salute? I know of people that were stopped because they looked similar and were driving a car like the one that was stolen or part of a robbery. If it was done with the intent to humiliate and injure, go to the police department and write a formal report and give it to the chief of police.

While I have not read every comment it seems the majority of them are an apology for the police.
I am sure there are other circumstances involved in the stop to make the police officer suspicious of his activity.
That being said; there is no excuse for fascism. If you don't think our current laws and enforcement procedures aren't fascist then you are part of the problem.

One thing you must understand that the Police put their life on the line day in and day out. Even the most innocent people can be dangerous. All it takes is a split second for a suspect to pull out a gun and start killing. Put yourself in the cops shoes, would you rather play it over-safe and have a suspect complain about a little humility? Or, let your guard down and widow your spouse and orphan your kids?

The police obviously had reason to belive there was " somthing " going on with you friend and/or his car.
Hands up and knelling are tatical postions for THE OFFICERS SAFETY. Keep in mind they were obviosuly looking for something specific if they were doing that.
It does not matter how may officer there were at the scene. A person will do what ever he wants nomatter if there are 1 or 10 officers there. If he decides he is going to run or fight extra officers are needed.
OFFICER SAFETY.

No, it wasn't right, but it was probably a reason behind it. Does your friend have a record? Did the police have a reason to pull him over in the first place? Was it a legal search? Your friend may wish to speak to a personal injury lawyer, many will not even charge unless you get compensation for your injuries. Find one with a free initial consultation.

Police have strict procedures to follow. If you're friend was detained in this fashion it was because he was suspected of a serious offense.
It is unfortunate for your friend, but the police must use tactics that limit the chance of escape and favour their safety.
Like you and I cops can make mistakes too.
