The world understands the goodness of a person long after that person has gone to the Heavens.

Some of us are not worried about heaven. A lot don't even believe in it. Just like some do not believe that Jesus suffered on the cross (any more than any other person who was crucified for treason to Rome...) Some do not believe in salvation thru the death of an innocent man.

You have been decieved. Good works are a part of faith but they are not what gets you into heaven. Allowing Jesus Christ to dwell in your heart and work through you is the way into Heaven.

Some people believe that God judges by a weigh scale, and if your good weighs the bad, then you get to have a relationship with God in heaven. This is an outragous lie. Jesus already payed the penalty for our sins, all you have to do is accept Him into your heart and desire to do His will in your life.

Jesus suffered so that we could make it to heaven by believing in him. That is *why* he suffered.

The question of whether anyone makes it to a heaven, including Jesus himself, is a separate one.

Why do you say that you can make it to heaven by being good?
Christianity is the ONLY religion that believes that people are unable to get to heaven on their own (by being good); every other belief system says it is up to you and your actions.
The Bible says that anyone who has sinned cannot get to heaven. So we would all be doomed, except that Jesus (a perfect, spotless, and sinless being) died in our place. Then it is up to us to decide whether we want to accept what Jesus did or try on our own strength to make it to heaven. See my source:

you can not make it into heaven by being good.

We were saved by grace and not our works.
Jesus said that He is the way, the truth and the life and that know one comes to the Father except through Him.
Which means that we can only get into heaven were God ( the Father) is by believing in and about Jesus, by believing in our hearts that Jesus came down from heaven, died for our sins on the cross and rose on the third day and confessing that with our mouth.
Only doing that will get us into heaven.

You cannot get to heaven by being good---good works count nothing towards your salvation. Salvation is free and can only be gained through the blood of Jesus---you must submit yourself to him. He died for your sins so that you could get into heaven. The Bible says that nobody is good, which is why we need Jesus. God demands blood atonement for sins. Jesus died so that you would not have to do so. Jesus loves you.

It is not by the works of your hand but the fiahtof your heart in Jesus Christ that allows you to enter the kingdom of heaven. Being good is a by product of a true lasting relationship with the one who has created, saved, and forgiven you.

In case you didnt notice Jesus did alot more besides die.
And why do people think they can reduce the life of Jesus into a one liner such as he died for our sins? Even when talking about people, no one is just one thing. Here lies bob. He was a skateborder RIP!
Jesus can for the sick and the sinful. Mostly because they got the message and became followers. When people are rich and powerful they dont need God.

Precisely because you *can't* get to Heaven by being good. Neither the Jews nor the Christians ever believed that.
