It would be very rare for yoga to cure cancer. It may certainly help in some cases, but then, again, it would be also very rare. So, how to know what will help? One way would be to turn to medical astrology. From the natal chart of your mother it would be possible to see how long the causes of the ovarian cancer are in still in effect, or maybe, she still has a long way to go to get read of the illness, regardless of the operation. (Sometimes, surgery helps, sometimes not.)

Now, having cancer would mean that she repressed anger towards herself and that it kept on storing until the store could not hold it any longer, that is, until the organ -- ovaries, in this case - started (wildly) growing, which we usual lable as tumor, or if the growing is uncontrolled, a cancer. In order to get better, she should not only get all the therapies that she can from the medical doctors, but she should also change her life, or her view of her life. It is not possible to heal cancer without healing emotions first!

If Mars were in the 12th house in her natal chart, then yes, yoga might have been a venue towards a start in life. Otherwise, she should be doing something else. There are many cases of people dramatically recovering from cancer by changing diets, general lifestyles, the surroundings, the continent they live on etc...

For a medical astrology case of uterine sarcoma, you can see this link:

If your mother can access the Internet, she can come to this page and get half an hour of free Reiki healing every day:

So, shop around. Any other supplements or herbal preparations rising immunity levels would also help. The key is to get recovered as much as possible and then to undercut the possibility of the illness returning by redirecting energy flows within and around you.

There are also remedies and therapies (homeopathic, herbal, Reiki etc.) that can address the consequences of chemotherapy, so she should get those as well. She can also get lots of distant healing by asking Yahoo grous for Reiki and other forms of energy healing.

Bach flower remedy called Gorse will also help immensely, by giving her courage to go on fighting.

Hope all this helps!

Sincerly, Dusko Savic

Yoga will not cure cancer. It will however promote blood circulation in the body and loosen joints and increase flexibilty (thereby making you feel better). I wouldn't suggest this for your mother since she just had surgery. Surgical wounds require time to heal. It would be unwise to practice yoga soon after surgery in fear of tearing or injuring the surgical site. She'll probably need radiation therapy following chemo. She can probably start yoga after all this is done and her body has healed from the side effects.

There are some good ayurveda books out there. Let me see if I can find the one I'm thinking of. "Ayurveda - A Life of Balance: The Complete Guide to Ayurvedic Nutrition & Body Types with Recipes" By Maya Tiwari - ISBN: 089281490X This book is famous for being written by a cancer patient. The author, who was diagnosed for ovarian cancer took up Ayurveda, which cured her completely. Apart from dealing with all the fundamentals of the system, here she helps you identify your "body type" through questionnaires and charts and recommends menus and vegetarian recipes.

Sad to say, no hon, Yoga can and will not cure any type of Cancer. Yoga will make your mother feel better but it will never take away the cancer.

I wish your mother well.

Please! Do not follow any "they told me recipees". Cancer is a disease caused by abnormal reproduction of the cells. Have the best specialist that you can afford take care of it.
If any of these strange recipees (so called "alternative2, because they ar not the real one) had worked, the American Medical Association or its equivalent in any advanced scientific country would have recognized it
