the only thing i would know to do is go to whitepages.com and do a search on something like that but you would need to know at least the area of which he lives

Unfortunately "David" & "Jones" are very common names. Were both of your grandparents local to the Guildford area and when was your dad born. If you know any other information with respect to where he used to live or work, it might be possible to track him down that way.
