Qurán 9:5
""The Verse of the Sword""
"" Fight and slay the pegans wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem""

Concerning Matt. 10:34
At first glance this saying sounds like a contradiction of Is 9:6{ "Prince of Peace"}, Luke 2:14{"on earth peace among men"} and John 14:27{"peace I leave with you"}. It is true that Christ came to bring peace---peace between the believer and God, and peace among men. Yet the inevitable result of Christ's coming is conflict, between Christ and the antichrist, between light and darkness, between Christ's children and the devil's children. This conflict can occur even between family members.
But here you do not see Christ telling us to fight and slay anyone or to seize them or to beleaguer them or to lie in wait for them in every stratagem.

There are direct instructions for muslims. No one can deny that. I do not hold any hate for muslims or anyone else. I am only trying to show the truth. I pray that everyone may come to find Jesus Christ as their Lord an Saviour.

I think you will find that those verses are in the context of them fighting a war for survival!

Islam is as much a religion of peace, as Christianity is a religion of peace. Both have been used by extremists with a political agenda as a justification for horrible acts. Both are based on the same ancient texts about a rather nasty, vengeful, and at times genocidal God of Abraham. That is why they are so similar!

If you search in History books you'll see the damages done by those who follow Christianity (witches hunt and so on).
And worse: not written to do anywhere in the Bible!

Also, do you follow everything the Bible says?
In fact, does anyone?
If so, why do we always have sins to confess to the priest?

So, why do you believe Muslims do?
Are after an excuse?
Sorry, I think this one won't do.

Like everyone who sees their religion attacked and diminished, they react.
I also think that they don't react the best way but no one is perfect.
I like red, some like blue...

Please if you are trying to create ethnic animosity then don't ask these questions.
It can go orthodox mad.
if you are just asking the question with no frustration or anger here is the answer
it's true that Islam spread on the force of sword.
But it promoted the good of common people.
it showed them the right path on a mass scale.
the biggest evidence of it is Koran
And it is not at all a sin to take a person from wrong to right forcefully.
It is truly a religion of peace.

to all the people on this forumn saying "early christians were just as bad or worse"

this questions is a quote taken directly from the quran. early christians did what they did on their own. if someone misintreprets what ANY scripture says that has nothing to do with the scripture or the religion itself. it just means those people were wrong.

the crusaders were not christianity. CHRIST is christianity. and no where in Christs word does it say anything like what is listed here in the Quran.

Early Christians were just as barbaric--witch hunts, burning at the stake, etc. Islam is not as old as Christianity. It will take many more years for that religion to spread empathy and compassion among its members. It took a few centuries for Christians to settle down.

Paganism (from Latin paganus, meaning "a country dweller" or "civilian") is a blanket term which has come to connote a broad set of western spiritual or religious beliefs and practices of natural or polytheistic religions, as opposed to the Abrahamic monotheistic religions. "Pagan" is the usual translation of the Islamic term mushrik, which refers to 'one who worships something other than God'.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

the verse refers to taking on the non believers, those who don't believe in GOD.
Muslims do believe as do christians.
and christians have been called on to take the fight for christianity to their fellow man.

so just do what GOD said, open your heart, as they are doing what their faith tells them to do, which is more than a lot of Christians can say.

Once saw a comment that suggested that once someone's reputation is destroyed, it becomes easy to vilify them. Mainly because they have been dehumanised. I think this is what has happened here, as with any minority group be it spiritual, ethnic, political - the list goes on.

It's more than just laziness, I tend to look at WHO benefits from this kind of fear mongering and mud slinging.

Does it matter when soon Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, will soon bring his Kingdom, and all on earth will bend knee to Him?

Same way Christian missionaries......traveled the world and forced christianity on cultures.destrying many of them forever, or the crusades that killed and tortured hundreds of thousands of muslims in the name of Christ..somehow I don't think Jesus wanted that for his children. Every religion has its problems and its bad points............true religion lies in our hearts and what we do in our actions. perhaps if we respected each other a little more, there would be no need for such verses
