i wrote a short story, and people who read it said its a really good story, but i dont know how to publish it!

Well thats the easiest question i ever heard. Open the back of a book similar to your story. Find the name of the publisher. Use the internet to get a phonenumber. Give them a ring and maybe you have to ask for the name of an agent they work with. the agent is going to filter goodies from baddies, but don't forget to save the rights on the story, or storyline or whatever is special in your story, a carachter or,...... you'll know. before you go to an agent. He might copy it and sell it to a well known writer, because of the higher profit compared to you as a novice. Type copyright in your searchengine and you will see publishing a book is hard work.
