I used to read some of Johnny Lee Clarys articles and he said the only unforgivable sin is cursing the holy spirit(weird). I was just wondering cause there have been many times when I've been close to suicide.

We look at sins from our finite eyes, thinking some sin is worse than others. But when the woman who was caught in the very act of adultery was going to be stoned, Jesus said, "you who are without sin cast the first stone". Notice Jesus didnt say " you who comited a lesser sin, cast the first stone. In Rev 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and prostitutes, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. We see some really bad sins in this verse but we also see some that we think arent that bad like fearful, liars, and just not believing in Christ doesnt seem that bad, but because Christ had to die for all sin, all sin is just as bad to Him. So to finally answer your question, its yes. If somone says a bad word before he dies by a wreck, its just as bad. To be fair, there is no verse that says you will or wont go to heaven or hell if you commit suicide. But once you are saved, you cant loose it. No one can take it away, not even you. Please read these verses Lev 26, Job 8:20. 13:16-18, Psalms 34:22, Isaiah 51:6, John 6:27,35-37, 8:32-36,10:28-29, 17:12, Romans 5:9 6:18,22, 8:1,2,30, 11:29, 1Corinthians 1:4, 3:23, 4:4, II Cor 1:22, 3:12-18, 5:1, Galatians 3:13, 5:1, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, Philipians 1:6, 3:16, 4:7, Hebrews 2:3, 7:25, 10:26-31, James5:19-20, IPeter 1:3-5,23-25, II Peter 1:9,10, I John 2:25-27, 3:1-2, 4:4-18, 5:4,10-14. This should answer your questions on confessing sins before you die.

It is hard to say when you pull the trigger how much time elapses until you are truly separated from your flesh. Jonah was in the belly of a wale for three days and God came and talked to him. So possibly God will come and talk to you at that time, but I would not depend on it. It may be impossible to ask for forgiveness?
Further, there really isn't anything such as suicide, only of the flesh, and that is like shooting your car. If you are having a mental day, why would you shoot your vehicle? You might be able to use the car to straighten out the delima? I have always thought that if you blew your body away, you would have no way to work out the Worldly problem that you are having. More then likely it is a tough lesson of some kind. God says He will never allow you to go through more then you can handle, so maybe it is just a matter of something missing in your life, like a closer walk with God. It would be crazy to kill your body that really doesn't have anything to do with your mind, only to realize that the answer was just around the corner. Anyway I said all of that to say this, "Let It Flow", nothing and I mean N O T H I N G, is that important anyway........
Here comes some love.
The Rev.

The unpardonable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. A true Christian will not commit suicide. Suicide removes any chance of repentance. According to the standards that Jesus laid down the thought of suicide is sin itself, because sin starts with a thought and we are told to guard our thoughts. Wrongful thinking needs to be repented before it becomes action. Self destruction is no difference than murdering another person. A true Christian never wants to commit suicide because there is too much to live for. If you have thoughts of suicide---serious thoughts and not just a passing fancy---then you need to talk to someone. Obsession with suicide is usually a sign of depression and it needs to be dealt with before trouble erupts. Jesus loves you.

Like cursing the Holy Spirit, I've heard that suicide is also an unforgivable sin. So forgive oneself and let live... let God be the Judge of one's life

Steph... I believe the answer to your question is no, if you commit suicide you don't go to heaven. I'm not sure if this is still true or not, but it used to be if a Catholic commited suicide he/she couldn't be buried in a Catholic cemetary. If you're concerned about this, maybe you should talk to someone at your church about it? You might get more than an answer to your question, you might get help with the issues that are causing you to consider suicide. Wouldn't that be better than not going to heaven? To have a life of joy... contentment... peace. Everyone has issues and problems, the difference is how you deal with them. Use your faith, Steph, and ask for help.

Everyone goes to heaven - Murderer's, paedophiles, suicides - It's fact whether people are angry by this or not - But they all have to deal with the hurt and pain they cause others when they get there - As do us good people do to but on a lower scale of course - So yes, suicides go to heaven. But if you commit suicide, can you live with the hurt and pain you will cause your family - And also live with the fact your giving up on your precious life - You're stronger than that - Face your issues in the eye and deal with them, don't give up!!!

If you're at the point where death seems like the better choice, then why even worry about if there is a Heaven or not? I mean, really. Maybe you should concern yourself with thoughts about how the one life you're given could be better or more enjoyable. Your last thoughts shouldn't be about insubstancial fantasy realms you won't be going to if you kill yourself.

If you ever go through with it, make sure to resolve this question so we all know what happens to you on the "other side." I'm pretty sure they have Yahoo! where ever you're going.

this is one aspect of christian teachings i have to say makes me very sad ( no disrespect intended ) but i cant figure when one is so low that escape from this life seems the only option , that is something punishable , when that person so very much needs love and healing and definitely not punished
i have to say though that although at times suicide seems the only answer , it is only the answer for that moment , and one can get out of this low with help from doctors and therapists and some good friends and positive thinking

Ok its time for a sweet lecture....
Well Christian or Muslim, religion does affect just bodily relation. We are all souls. Souls have not religion but everything they have is spiritual. Finishing body without approval of higher authorities (unnatural death) is a sin and is painful too.. I dont know what bible says on this. But until ur time isnt come u soul cannot quit body, BUT if u force in this unnatural way u wont either go to heaven or hell until ur time doesnt come.
This is because going to heaven or hell is what higher authorities have to decide and guide u.
Now that your soul is out of your material body, but subtle body i.e. desires, lust is not away with soul bcos of unnatural death. In that state, your soul has desires but has no organ to fulfil this. That situation is worse then hell.
For example soul without body that ppl call ghost has some desire say sex desire but has no body to do this or he wants to taste some food but has no mouth or tounge to do.
Sill not clear? Last example just like guy without legs can have desire to walk or run but bcos he has not legs he doesnt.

ur life is ur God's property. He has the only right to take it from you when He needs. you are not suppose to do this thing by urself. so better stay off this sin. there is not forgiveness for suicide. be brave and face the realities. if u can not change the place where u live, change the people around u. but do not forgive living.
