No. He won the World professional middleweight karate championship (non contact) in 1968 and held that title for six consecutive years.
Of all the American martial artists that became action movie stars I believe that only Don "The Dragon" Wilson was the world full contact champion.
P.S.
Jim R I know who Benny Urquidez is, you don't have to tell me that, but he's not exactly a movie star. He only had 2 or 3 slightly more important roles ( in "Wheels On Meals" and "Dragons Forever" with Jackie Chan and "Grosse Pointe Blank" with John Cusack) and his acting career doesn't even remotely compare with the one of Don Wilson and certainly not with the one of Chuck Norris.

A lot of martial arts, is just "bones crawling over bones", and the younger men usually prevail over the old. Being Norris is 67 years old, that is getting to where someone is picking on an old man.... Norris may still have fight in him, but some bad hits would be painful to see... Both are movie stars and don't need to go into the ring anymore.

Chuck was not a contact champ. He was a champ, just not in full contact. However, he has now formed the World Combat League which is full contact. Google the WCL for all the info.

Don Wilson must have been fighting grandmothers b/c he is the weakest "champion" I have ever seen and his movies that go straight to video hardly make him a huge star compared to Benny.

PS: *Thank you Ronin*
PSS: I forgot to mention "Joe Louis" (I know ribifish he is not an
actor like Tom Cruise, Jaguar, etc. but a terrific fighter and did
some acting,do you think Don Wilson would like to go toe to toe
with him? somehow I don't think so.)
