I think that people might say that because they feel overcome with emotion at that time. Some people say 'oh, I love that tv show' They don't love it, they just really like it a lot.
I've said I loved people in previous relationships, I felt it at the time, but looking back now I realise I only ever truly loved one of them. It's what people say with the way that they act not what they verbally say.

cause it's an easy thing to say for some, bit like saying sorry and not meaning it. Or they don't know the meaning of the word. Or the person it being said too has other ideas of what love entails.
