The belief that all religions are parasites of the mind is known as the 'meme theory' of religion, and has recently been gaining ground among anthropologists and sociologists. The theory states that memes perform two types of actions:

(1) Take control of their victims' minds.
(2) Encourage their victims to spread the meme to others.

This is just so obviously true. The sad thing is that the infected don't even realize how badly the rational thinking part of their mind has been damaged.

From your questions, I can see you are trying to findout about religions but from what it seems you haven't completed your reseach.
If you were born in a Christian society then yes, that's what a religion will look like to you but the fact is it goes way beyond that, it helps us set moral standards, tell you a better way to live our lives and serve the nature of this world.

Actually, I am completly with you and everyone should put ALL the religions in this world to test to see which is the best way for everyone to live in love and peace and if at the end if you end up with one religion who passes all of your tests then why not? What is wrong with not accepting it.

This is why I am Muslim because Islam gives me answer to each and every problem and situation that I have ever faced or will ever face in future.
If one thinks denying religion or God can make them a better person, I say go for it! But can you be also a better person for society with your moral standards who will not hate anyone who wants to follow something you don't?

I understood it to be more like a collective thing, buried in the subconscious. Supposedly it is in everyone to some degree or another and carries with it certain things from all of your ancestors (thru DNA?). Rather than a virus that one person can spread to another, like the flu. ^_^

Good grief, get yourself together and learn what true happiness is. It sure isn't what your doing, spreading virus ideas.

Don't be so afraid. God loves you as much as he does me. I hope you get to feel it in your heart before it is too late for you and you leave this earth.

Maybe to you it doesn't make sense, but to me it does so stop trying to stamp out what others believe.
