It is your life, do what you feel is right to be happy. Religion botched alot of people up.

Well yes it is, because God made you the way you are in order to be unique, just as some people have brown or blue eye, red or black hair, or they are born disabled. A surgery is meant to help people with disabilities, with health problems and the ultimate purpose is to heal and save lives. A sex change operation from a medical point of view is necessary for self-esteem mostly. But from a religious point of view it is a great sin because the person turns into someone who God did not intend him to be.
If you want a deeper spiritual answer try a talk to a priest. Ask someone if they know a good priest. They usually don`t judge anyone and I find I always feel at peace with myself if I talk to a priest about issues that seem to have no answer. And things have always worked out for the best.

No.I think it would be a sin to be unhappy and to hate the life you were given because of that unhappiness.If changing your body to fit who you are makes you happy then that is all that matters.It is your body after all and so you should be happy with it.And if you don't feel right as your present sex then I think maybe there was a biological mistake in your development and you should correct it.That isn't a sin.That is correcting an error to make life yours.

The simple logic should be- yes, since God created you as you are for a reason. By changing your sex you actually says he was wrong.
But I believe that you have the right to control your life and direct them as you want in order to be happier; If God truly loves you, as many people claim him to do, he'll probably be happy for you.
The bottom line? Do whatever you want and tell us if you've been hit by a lightning.

Yes, it is to me & God both. When God made a person (Man & woman) he call it is good. But when they do this There saying to God: You made a mistake, And you know God, Don't make mistakes, Like a preacher once said whet ever you born a man or women that is in God's hands and choice. But whet ever you act like a man or woman is a matter of choice you make. Beside that, it cause a lot of bad feelings and confusions . God said a man should not wear the things ( or dress up like a woman) that belong to a woman and a woman should wear the things or dress up like a Man. It's in the Bible I'll leave you the challenge of find it. { in the Old Testement} . This is why God said it and also what about the other person feelings? Do they think about that with what their doing when they make this decision? The reason why people do this, is because there not thankful to God for what he done for them.
That God gave them to their stupidpity in order to shame them on the day of Judgment when they stand before God and give acount of their life to him. When God made man. He said it not right for man to be alone. So I will make for him a help-mate. So God made a woman from one of his rib.{ Why the rib? because God did not take from one of toes because he didn't want her to beneath him and not from his head because he did not want her to be over him. So God; woman from one of his ribs, So she can beside him has equals and because she is made from his rib. All men are incomplete until he find woman and make her his wife. Read the book of Genesis for this account
It is because women that men can inherit the Earth and The Heavens thru the baring of children and thru teaching them repect for one others and the law of God and Man thru thier lives and keeping the sexes separate and distinct is one way to do this, Also read the story of Sodom And Gorrmora for what God think about homosexuals. Real interesting reading there. Think about it. Anybody that does this, as a devil in them, stay away from them. Stay true to the Bible, if your Bible believing. Don't Let them fool you. you will stand before God.

since a sex change only affects the body and not the spirit, I don't see this as being a sin

It is a sin if you are christian or any religion thats against homosexuality. Then again, you are who you are and if you believe in your heart that it is your destiny, so be it...god is understanding...no one can tell you how to be happy.
