Luck is a force other than those forces explained by science or formal religion. Luck is an artifact of folk spirituality and paganism that is unquestioned within cultures that are predominantly Judeo-Christian. However, most people who embrace a formal religion, atheism, or scientific agnosticism will describe Luck as "superstition", which implies thier understanding of forces that are difficult to explain is superior to the folk explanation of those forces.

What people call "luck" may well be the mindset of the "lucky" individual that notices opportunities that most of his colleagues overlook through focus on tasks of the moment. An open mind, willingness to take minor and interesting risks, sets the stage for "serendipity" ... Events may be random, but the individual's mindset is not. When one is unwilling to stray, even slightly, from the routine path for venture or adventure, then Fortuna's knock on the door will go unanswered ;)

Ain no secha thing. There's such a thing as KARMA. What goes around, comes around. What you put our there, comes back to you. Be sure to put just good stuff out. That means good actions, good words and, most importantly, good thoughts. Thought is the most powerful thing in the universe. Constantly monitor your thoughts to make sure they're positive.

'Abdu'l-Baha, the son of the Prophet-Founder of the Baha'i Faith said something like, manmade and natural calamities are both the result of the negative thinking of mankind. As man spiritualizes, and his thoughts become more and more positive, manmade and natural calamities will disappear.
