This is an interesting question. Of course you should not use your cell phone in a movie theater or a concert. However, if someone is talking in a normal voice and they are at a restaurant how is that different than them having a dining companion? I was at a restaurant once and a woman was dining alone quietly talking on her cell phone. You could barely hear her, much quieter than if she had someone at the table. The table next to her that had 3 bratty kids running all over the place actually had the nerve to tell her that it was rude to be on your phone in a restaurant. Well as someone who doesn't have kids and doesn't talk on the cell while dining out I can tell you I would much rather sit by a cell phone person than someone with kids.

When I can, I move. I want to invent a device which will drop all connections when I am on the bus/trolley/streetcar/subway especially after work! Most of the calls (I have very good hearing) are, "Oh, yeah, I'm at 6th and Market, should be home in thirty minutes." Or the best:
In the supermarket: "Should I get &*()) or $%^^^?" The worst is in really nice restaurants where one wishes to relax. I don't go to movie theatres anymore unless it is over one hundred dregrees outside...

Cell phone use in traffic is irritating and dangerous.
And people in stores will stop and talk on the cell phone
right in the middle of an aisle and usually won't get out
of the way for shoppers.

I've noticed signes popping up allover the place,"If you are on your cell phone step to the back of the line so we can help customers we can talk to" and I think its about tome, every other car you pass the driver is on a cell phone. They are every where. Its crazy.

Some dumb b$tch had her phone at the movies with her and sat right next to me. When it rang she freakin answered and chit chatted for like 5 minutes. I had my toddler with me so I tried to be calm until she did it the THIRD time. I stood up and told her to turn the f'ing thing off and MOVE! My son said YEAH and I had to try not to laugh and she took her stupid *** the hell outta there.

certainly it is irritating. while standing in a queue some idiots whip up their cellphone and start talking in a loud
voice, distracting everybody and irritating them. Cell should be switched off in cineme halls. concerts etc
