It only bothers me if it's personal material...a letter to me, something I wrote, bills, etc.
It doesn't so much annoy me that they're reading it if they don't know what it is. I expect them to look away when they find out it IS personal material though.
The worse is when people stand too close to me and stare at the screen while I'm at the ATM. I know that it'd be hard as hell to use my information against me...but I think that is horribly rude.

Yes - I fought with my husband over this today, also hate it when he reads my personal e-mail, I do not put anything in there incriminating, but still I set up my own account so I could have my own account, now I password protected my browser too - he uses IE and I use Mozilla - that is how he gets to my e-mail, cause it fills in the password for me, but I like it like that, so I just password the browser so I can keep password fill-in's on.

yes.. because psychologicaly speaking.. we all have our own personal space that varies from culture to culture.. some would have 12 cm of space.. some more..some less.. if we are not familiar with the person that's intruding in our space.. then we feel very uncomfortable..but if it is someone that you have known for 20 years.. then it might feel alright.. but sometimes when you need time alone.. even a loved one intruding into your personal space can get annoying.. so just walk away in this case to avoid fights or arguments.. =)

I don't care if someone reads over my shoulder if I'm reading a newspaper as much as when someone reads over my shoulder while I'm tying an email. OH that's annoying!

If not psychopathic ,and if seems to be true to anyone of us e.g. using high technology to offend or bother or spy and sometimes in trials to help in some cases of misunderstanding or overprotection...in this cases it is annoying and deserves to be a 2 ends war, where either you or the offensive wins in the end and that depends on sources of power ..................................Dr sherif lanson khalil of Egypt

It's not rude but nobody except your dear ones will like to take that load for no reason. Only people who are close and dear to you will not mind.
