Has anyone read the book? If yes, what did you think about it? Have any of you done any research on what the book states as being true without doubt?

The book recycles information speculated about in the previous fictional thriller "Holy Blood Holy Grail." The book was a masterful plot designed to remind those who burned the Library of Alexandria that whisperings abound that shards are around.
However the prophetic nature of the Hebrew language and codes embedded in the Temple of Solomon were unsolved prior to his writing the book. The main fictional point alludes to the nature of carnal men to get involved with female associates. Had he been carnal/sinful He would not have been able to cast out any demons. As a missionary actively involved in deliverance, you have to spend much time in absolute purity to dare to face demons, much more to cast them out. You cannot receive healing for anyone in a sinful state. Plus Miriam from Magdala had in 7 demons previously: any such sin would have caused Jeshua to be demonized and I would not have been able to inherit the gifts that he left us.

It is a very good novel. Mind you it say novel. I looked up several things as I was reading the book. Opus Dei is real. That order of scion did exist , but there are some issues with the origination and age of it. But the book also included a lot of other facts. small but interesting. I don't understand what the "Hu Ba" is all about. None of the facts I found would make a difference to religion. But maybe that proofs that author has some serious talent.

It's an entertaining book, based on some real things. If you want some perspective, read some other Dan Brown books. He's obviously trying to write a James Bond-meets-Indiana Jones kind of book, and they are more or less written as Hollywood screen plays. (Hint, hint)

He doesn't actually claim everything to be true. That would be laughable. And speaking as an atheist, if I intend to criticize the Catholic Church, I'd pick a different source...

I have done quite a bit of research, prior to reading the book. Ancient religions, archaeology and cultural sociology are some of my favorite topics.
The concept of the Divine Feminine has been around for about 30,000 years; however, actual written documentation has only been in existance since 3,000 - 2,000 BCE.
There is also enough documentation to support Mary Magdalene being a Priestess of Ishtar - in the city of Magdal, and being the mate/wife of Jesus.
In the book, however, several different concepts and theories are mashed together, no one theory is carried all the way through.

i didn't read the book, but the history channel said it was full of crap. I believe everything the history channel says, especially the UFO files shows. But, seriously, I think it's been proven beyond any reasonable doubt that the book is not true. And besides, it's in the Fiction section of bestseller lists. Also, even the author, Dan Brown, says it probably didn't happen that way. So, I would like to see someone prove that. They can't.

It's all purely imaginations gone wild. I just wish that people would actually take the time out to read the bible in it's entirety and then start questioning it's "worthiness". The movie was for entertainment only not to be taken seriously. Yes I did read the book and I do read the bible, and I'm not going to allow a book to change my mind.

Be careful about what the "book says is true without a doubt". All it says is THE RITUALS in the book are true - It doesn't say the religious bits are true

It is an easy - read - thriller - rollercoaster. NOTHING MORE

(I really liked it but didn't like the movie)

I have read the book twice. It's a great work of fiction! I am not sure about the facts book claims as being true. But who cares about that when you are reading a fiction.

I have read it twice now. I think the first time I read it was better, because I was already aware of where the fictional plot was headed the second time around!!

It's decent reading though. I find it funny that people got worked up enough to protest the concept of a sacred feminine...like it really matters to their personal life!
