I have seen several manufacturers selling "USB 2.0" cables as if they should cost more than USB 1.1. This is not the case, only the device itself is different, not the cable. Every new cable now on the market will work with both standards.
Largely price should be determined only by the length of the cable, and with manufacturing costs dropping as they become increasingly common there is little difference in quality with a more expensive cable.

They're usually better shielded - that's about it - a lot of USB 1.1 cables will work at USB 2 speeds anyway - just keep them away from sources of interferance, such as power cables - some people tie cables together to keep them tidy - tying power and data cables together may LOOK tidy but it REALLY isn't a good idea....

USB 2.0 is the latest USB standard with speeds up to 480 megabits per second. Older computers may have USB 1.1 with speeds up to 12 Mbps. Therefore, the main difference is the speed of the connection. Mixing cables and ports can be done, but it will be at the slower of these maximum speeds.

The connection point to a PC is always the same for USB, however depending on your model the plug CAN be different, check to see the pin numbers on your printer.
Mine is a Dell AIO 944 and the connection/plug in looks different than a normal USB.
Check what you have, hope it helps.

Mostly a con for the price range, but there is a differnece in types of cable.
Look for
1.1 compliant
2.0 compliant This is faster and some applications require the higher speed.
