What is the RMU ( ring main unit) switchgear?

Are there any gas filled to them and also what other types of these switchgears..

Yes there are SF6 gas RMUs as well as oil filled and air insulated.

RMUs have an incoming and outgoing switch and a tee off between them with an outgoing switch/fuse arrangement to supply HV load to a txfmr or HV circuit.
