If you were born in Italy, but your parents aren't Italian citizens, you aren't automatically entitled to get the Italian citizenship. But if either of your parents is Italian and you were born abroad, you can find the following link useful:

http://www.regalis.com/citizen.htm

It explains what you need in order to claim your Italian citizenship.

Another possiblilty is to marry an Italian citizen.
