For one, the Bible is filled with history. History of creation, history of mankind, history of much of the middle east, history of Christ and more. The Bible sets down some basic rules such as the 10 commandments and the teaching of many motivated people. The Bible depicts the how much God loves us particularly in Jesus and the only way to salvation. The Bible has hurt no one. For one to "bash it" seems odd because it is there to help.
