This is a real question, and I know the answer. There is no intent to disparage anyone. I just want to know how many of you can answer this question about Islamic culture.

Because the Islamic year has shorter days in the months(lunar based) so in the same time as common/Christian based years, more Islamic "years" have passed. Hence a muslim will have had more birthdays.

Can I go now?

everyone seems in agreement about the calender. I'll try another route. I know other Asian nations you are already 1 years old when you come out. The nine months count as the 1st year. So when an Asian person says they are 35, they are really 34 by western reckoning. Mideast is central Asia so maybe they do the same, I don't know anything about Islamic culture though. Just that the local (Chinese) food 'chuan' (meat on a stick) is a Muslim food.

An Islamic calander has about 10 less days than the calander we use so I guess after every 34 years, a Muslim is actually 35 years old instead.

Because some muslim nations use the moon calender. So the year is shorter than the sun calender. It is possible to celebrate a birthday twice in the same sun-year according to the moon calender.
