What types of spices should I add? I'm dating a new guy that only eats spicy food and this is my most famous recipe...Any ideas would be appriciated, even ideas for spicing up chicken or shrimp to throw in the pasta would be helpful.

I don't need a recipe for alfredo, I just need spice ideas....BTW juliarajkumar that is a horrible recipe...you need to first slightly melt the cheese in the butter b4 adding the cream and your portions are really off..please no one use that recipe.

What about spices that won't change the color? Are there any other than white pepper?

Ground pepper, flakes or anything in a jar from the market won't make it hot for him.
Add ONE drop of Dave's Ultimate Insanity hot sauce. More than that, and he won't be able to eat it.
Cut up harbanero peppers and add it to the sauce. Make sure you dice them finely, so the heat will spread. Use different colors, if you can find them, it will make the sauce look pretty.
And, yes, her recipe was horrendous.

Cayenne pepper is probably your best bet. It's ground fine so it wont interfere too much with the texture of the alfredo sauce. If you get a can of rotell chili sauce (they make an extra hot variety) poach your chicken in that with enough water to cover, then cube your chicken to serve with the pasta. Or you can cube it before poaching that will add even more spice.

Yep, for alfredo sauce, RED pepper would be my vote too. Add just a little at a time, maybe 1/4-1/8 teaspoon until you think it is perfect. Have some red pepper flakes at the table or some of this:

so he can take it up as hot as he likes. It is mainly just red chilies and garlic - wow, is it ever good (if you like hot stuff).

Alfredo sauce you can use white pepper. Which isn't really spicy but it makes it a little bit hotter. Chicken or shrimp there is a seasoning specifically for Blackening that is extremely spicy but also very tasty. I think it is made by the Tony Sashery (sp?) company
