I know how it works, but, i was wondeing if they take money out?

The machine counts all the money for you so you don't have to.
Recent development instead of having to a pay the 8% fee you can bypass the fee if you recieve the money in the form of a giftcard from some major retailers.

roll your coins the old fashioned way and bring them to the bank.

Of course they do. They make their money that way. It's a percentage. Usually 8% or more.

They take .08 of every dollar, but this is in Des Moines. I am not sure about other cities.
