you actually grow muscles by breaking the ones you already have...so if you lift weights, your muscles "break"...when they "grow" back, they say...hmm, that was hard...we need to be stronger! thats how you can lift more the next time..but if you start out lifting more than you can, you obviously wont be able to lift them or you could pull the muscle. you could also strain your muscle by overusing it, which is not fun. (im strained my ab a couple of times)

well yeah, but to grow muscle start with a weight that is relatively easy for you to lift, but not too light and keep doing repetitions, it can take up to 12 weeks for muscle to show...

if you force it you won't see results
