The defence of not being able to make rational choices has been used successfully in the past but most places have had legislative changes which make this defence obsolete.

umm, no. don't drink and drive. decide before you go in who will be the designated driver and it will be their responsibility to take you and your drunk self home. pleading insanity is just insane.
