To the poster who said that it only seems that Muslims are doing this, in a speech (I believe the Statue of the Union address, January 28, 2003) prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, President George W. Bush proclaimed "God is on our side." If that doesn't denote some degree of religion involved in this war, whether it is the war in Iraq or the war on terrorism, then I don't know what does. I'm not saying that we are fighting a holy war or that our servicepeople are killing in the name of God, but don't sit there and say that only one particular religion is guilty of such a sin.
There is only one religion that has not waged war in the name of its god or beliefs - Buddhism.
And if you don't believe that our President said that, I'll be happy to make a copy of the videotape and send it to you, or I'll track it down in the speech archives of the White House website, gratis.

I'm sure that God is mightily annoyed at all the wars fought in her/his name. Most religions allow killing under some circumstances, like self defence, defence of the oppressed - the key word here is defence. Of the religions I can think of only the Jains and some sorts of Buddhists absolutely forbid killing. So while I agree with your conclusion, I challenge your premise.

The problem is the extremist. There are always people that carry their believes to far. As if they are God. Unfortunately these people always seem to end up in power. Islam extremist believe anyone who does not think the way they do is the devil. So they feel they are doing Gods work.

Denum, I wish you will give yourself a chance to make your life meaningful. You are asking all these questions that can never give you the answer you want without knowing who Jesus Christ really is. To speed up the process, I recommend you to take an overdose of crack and lie in the hospital bed by yourself. You will be begging for "someone" to there. Good luck!

If most religions say that killing is wrong...? The word that you are calling killing is actually the Word murder. Premeditated killing for no reason. An illegal act.

Most religions say that "murder" is wrong. Not the same as your god telling you to kill the infidel.

It's their religion. They are the ones that got suicide pilots to hijack airplaines to kill thousands of innocent people. They believe it's right. They believe the our country is wrong and want to destroy us.

its wrong in one on one murder, its ok in wars you fight to prove your god is right. its all very stupid, men make up all the rules and blame it on some invisable god.
